Job Title:  Community Liaison

Reports To:  Supported Employment Manager/Resource Development Director

Location:  Varies

Division/Department:  Administrative Services/Supported Employment

Type of Position:  Full-time, Exempt

Wage range:  $20.39 - $33.00 DOE

Wage range depends on education and experience; most people will be hired at the beginning of the range.

 

General Statement of Function

The Community Liaison, under the direction of the Supported Employment Manager and Resource Development Director, will support the day-to- day operations of the Resource Development and Supported Employment Programs. This person will work in coordination with the Resource Development Director to develop and maintain community and business contacts related to public relations, donor and employer recruitment, stewardship, fundraising activities and events. This person will work collaboratively to receive and address public and business inquiries and shall serve as ambassador to both the business community and the general public. The Community Liaison will share responsibility for providing participant selection and job development to individuals with diverse abilities. He or she must understand the internal relationships of all programs and services within the agency.

This position will be evaluated equally between their skills and conduct as they apply to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization.

The person in this position must have an interest and willingness to work in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities, be flexible in supporting client choices by setting aside one's values, in order to support the Values and Mission of the Organization. Must be willing to do routine or detailed tasks, work effectively and productively as a team member and maintain effective working relationships with agency management team and departments.  Must be patient, tolerant, tactful, alert, maintain professional conduct and have a neat personal appearance for successful job performance. The Community Liaison is expected to contribute to team morale by supporting the team with enthusiasm, confidence, and loyalty.  This person must possess excellent verbal/written communication, use respectful and courteous language when communicating with team members, supported individuals, parents, and/or guardians, volunteers, and have a pleasant and positive attitude.

General

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • A 4-year college degree from a recognized institution is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Consistently maintaining confidentiality is a priority in this position.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must pass the criminal investigations and background check required by the Oregon Mental Health Division.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license (driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier), proof of personal automobile insurance and willing to use own vehicle in return for mileage reimbursement.
