Supervisor - Custodial Services

Job Title:  Supervisor

Reports To:  Program Manager

Location:  Custodial Services

Division/Department:  Vocational Support Services

Type of Position:  Full-time, Nonexempt (40 hpw)

Wage range:  $12.50 - $15.00/hr DOE

Wage range depends on education and experience; most people will be hired at the beginning of the range.

 

General Statement of Function

The Supervisor, under the direction of Program Manager, is responsible for developing and maintaining a vocational support program for adults with disabilities, including some with behavioral challenges, and the supervision of the staff and supported individuals of the program. These supports are performed in a vocational setting in keeping with Opportunity Foundation's philosophy regarding growth and development as it relates to supportive and respectful settings. The Supervisor is expected to continue to strive for excellence by developing skills and expertise that directly relate to this position. The Supervisor will be evaluated equally between their skills and conduct as they apply to the Mission, Vision and Values of the Organization.

The person in this position must have an interest and willingness to work in the field of disabilities, and be flexible to support supported individual choice by setting aside one's values, and support the Values and Mission of the Organization. Must be willing to be included in the routine or detailed tasks and work effectively and productively as a team member, as well as provide supervision for the team. Must be patient, tolerant, tactful, alert, and have a neat personal appearance for successful job performance. The Supervisor is expected to contribute to staff morale by supporting the team with enthusiasm, confidence, and loyalty. The individual must possess excellent verbal/written communication; use respectful and courteous language when communicating with team members, customers, and management; have a pleasant and positive attitude; and importantly, have a sharp eye for detail as pertains to the custodial tasks performed by the crew.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for quality assurance and best quality customer service in maintenance of all custodial contracts.
  • Responsible for supervision of all work crews, including crew leaders, staff/custodians, and supported individual custodians.
  • Support directives of Program Manager and assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining work tracking and customer feedback systems to assure best quality services and the success of the Custodial Services business plan.
  • Assign work to supported individuals and staff to accomplish contracted daily and periodic tasks.
  • Responsible for training staff and supported individuals in cleaning procedures, quality assurance and self-inspection procedures, safety procedures, work habits, and ethics.
  • Responsible for crews' adherence to Labor Hour Budget.
  • Must become familiar with and help maintain Opportunity Foundation's status as a Qualified Rehabilitation Facility (QRF).
  • Responsible for ordering Custodial Services supplies and maintaining a professional relationship with suppliers.
  • Must be familiar with each supported individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP).
  • Support supported individuals' choices in community activities that include transportation.
  • Comprehend and comply with State and Federal regulations that are applicable to the program.
  • Follow Opportunity Foundation's established Policies and Procedures and changes as mandated by the organization.
  • Follow Behavior Management Programs and procedures when dealing with incidents or crises, to include writing incident reports in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules.
  • Develop and maintain observation skills necessary to identify behavioral and health needs, and immediately report changes and concerns to the Program Manager.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment at all times. Report all safety concerns to the Program Manager. Consistently perform job safely and follow all program safety policies and procedures, including OSHA standards and best practices.
  • Assure timely completion of all required documentation, to include progress notes, training records, incident reports, etc.
  • Attend required and regularly scheduled meetings and in-service training, including team meetings.
  • May be required to obtain Oregon Intervention System (OIS) certification.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or delegated.

 

Occasional Job Functions

  • May be requested to participate in off-site activities, which involves travel at travel rate of pay.
  • Complete contracted periodic tasks, potentially on weekends, as required by janitorial contracts.
  • May participate in the development of an individual's ISP or attend an ISP meeting.

 

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • Consistently maintaining confidentiality is a priority in this position.
  • Custodial experience/supervisory experience required.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to get along with others and recognize the need for diversity and flexibility.
  • Must pass the criminal investigations and background checks required by the Oregon Mental Health Division.
  • Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license (driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier) and proof of personal automobile insurance.
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must complete 12 hours of job-related in-service training annually.
